John Gillespie (politician)

John Gillespie is a member of the Republican Party who was the unsuccessful Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in 2000. He is a resident of Appleton, Wisconsin. He and his wife, Jan, have two sons, Steve and Tim.

Along with ex-Green Bay Packer Bart Starr, Gillespie founded the Rawhide Boys Ranch in 1965. From 1993 until April 2000, Gillespie served as Director of Development for the Rawhide ranch, retiring to campaign for the U.S. Senate seat held by Democrat Herb Kohl.
