Jungjang

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search

Jungjang is the South Korean equivalent of a Lieutenant General. It outranks the Sojang, equivalent to a Major General.

In North Korea, the same name is romanized as Chungchang. Although still translatable as "Lieutenant General", a North Korean Chungchang is actually more of a Major General, since North Korea does not maintain a rank of Brigadier General. The real equivalent to Lieutenant General is Sangchang, translated as "Colonel General".
