Kicking Bird (died 1875) was a chief of the Kiowa Native American tribe. He was the leader of the Santee tribe, and was known for his strange rituals of combing his horse before and after a battle. He was one of the few leaders that married, and stayed loyal to the one woman. He was Sitting Bull's second cousin, and he masterminded the Battle of Wounded Knee.[citation needed]
