Kokonoe (九重町; -machi) is a small town located in Kusu District, Ōita, Japan. It promotes its nine hot springs, which are occasionally closed by flooding; it is also the summer headquarters of Labo Camp Kujuu, part of the LABO language program.
Kokonoe consists mainly of farms, hot springs, and countryside tourist attractions.
As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 11,289 and the density of 41.59 persons per km². The total area is 271.41 km².
