Kovar

Kovar is a nickel-cobalt ferrous alloy. It is designed to be compatible with the thermal expansion characteristic of sealing to borosilicate glass. Its composition is typically 29% nickel, 17% cobalt, .2% silicon, .3% manganese, and 53.5% iron (by weight) but there are some more compositions that also ship as Kovar.
