Kurt Loder (born May 5, 1945 in New Jersey) is an American journalist, author, and television personality. He is probably best known for serving as editor at Rolling Stone magazine (to this day, he continues to serve as a contributing editor). Prior to Rolling Stone, Loder worked for Circus magazine and before that, he served three years in the United States Army.

He joined MTV in 1988 as the host of their flagship music news program, The Week in Rock (and later, MTV News: 1515). Currently, he is an anchor and correspondent for MTV News. He also appears on its sister channel VH1. Loder was one of the first to break the news of Kurt Cobain's suicide; he interrupted regular programming to inform viewers that Cobain was "the apparent victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head." Kurt Cobain claimed in his Journals that Kurt Loder and Lynn Hirschberg were some of the worst reporters ever and he hates them both.

Loder is the author of Bat Chain Puller, a collection of his work for Rolling Stone, and co-author of singer Tina Turner's autobiography I, Tina.

Loder is originally from New Jersey, but resides in New York City.
