Madame Rosa is a 1977 French film. Its original French title is La Vie devant soi (The Life Ahead), the title of the novel on which it is based, which was written by Romain Gary under the pseudonym Émile Ajar.
The film was directed by Moshé Mizrahi and produced by Daniel Pomerantz. It stars Simone Signoret as Madame Rosa, a retired Jewish prostitute and an Auschwitz survivor.
The film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film of 1977.
