[edit] Character History

After Hannibal escaped from the men who brutally murdered and cannibalized his younger sister, Mischa, he was put up for adoption until his uncle discovered him and took him in.

His uncle was married to a Japanese woman named Lady Murasaki. Although the exact details of their relationship is unknown, there have been some hints in the press release that two have some sort of romantic relationship, and that Murasaki also trained young Hannibal in the ways of cultural sophistication.
