Larry Augustin

Larry Augustin is the chairman and founder of VA Software. He founded the company in 1993 while a Ph.D. student in electrical engineering at Stanford University.<ref>VA Software: Larry M. Augustin, Ph.D.</ref>
While at VA, he was one of the driving forces behind the creation of SourceForge, a popular collaborative software development management system.<ref name="azure">Azure: Larry Augustin, Venture Partner</ref>
He currently serves on the board of several companies, including Fonality, the Free Standards Group, JBoss, Linux International, MedSphere, the OSDL, Pentaho, SugarCRM, Compiere, VA Software, and Zend Technologies.<ref name="azure"/> Larry Augustin also features in the 2001 documentary Revolution OS.
Through all of Larry's success over the years he remains a pretty simple guy. He still wears his flannel shirts with patches from his high school days as a Stebbins Indian in Dayton, OH.
