Liam McCarthy Cup

The Liam MacCarthy Cup is the name of the Cup that the top twelve hurling teams play for in the Guinness All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the premier "knockout" competition in the game of hurling played in Ireland. The series of games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association and are played during the summer months with the All-Ireland Hurling Final being played on the first or second Sunday in September in Croke Park, Dublin City. The Liam MacCarthy Cup is currently held by Kilkenny who have 29 titles. Cork lead the 'Roll of Honour' having won the Liam MacCarthy Cup 30 times, while Tipperary stand third with 25.

The Liam MacCarthy Cup is also the title given to Tier 1 of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship in which the top 12 county teams compete. For the 2007 season, these teams are:
