Lilium (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lilium is the opening theme song for the anime Elfen Lied. It is based on several biblical passages and the hymn Ave mundi spes Maria (Hail Mary, Hope of the World) in Latin (and a couple of words in Greek). The lyric and melody are authored by Kayo Konishi and Yukio Kondou, after being requested to make the song like a Gregorian chant.
[edit] Lyrics
The lyric as appearing in the booklet of the anime's original soundtrack CD album are as given below (those in brackets are words from the saint version).

Note: The lyrics sheet used during production contained several typos, which are very audibly sung, and have also propagated to the soundtrack leaflet. These typos are not present in the version above.
