Lingen is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is located in the southern part of the Emsland district, bordering Nordrhein-Westfalen to the south and the Netherlands to the west. Lingen was first mentioned in medieval times (around 900 A.D.).
More recently Lingen is known for its nuclear industry (nuclear power plants and nuclear fuels), but also for its beautiful nature alongside the river Ems.
