Linkebeek

Linkebeek is a municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant, in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium. The municipality only comprises the town of Linkebeek proper. On January 1 2006 Linkebeek had a total population of 4,759. The total area is 4.15 km² which gives a population density of 1,147 inhabitants per km².
The official language is Dutch (as everywhere in Flanders). In 1954, special linguistic rights were given to local French-speakers (according to a 1947 census, they were more than 30%). French-speakers can request official documents from the local administration in French. They also have primary and maternity schools teaching in French.
