List of tallest buildings and structures in the Paris region

This article contains a list of the tallest buildings and structures located in the inner Paris urban area (Paris and neighbouring communes).

The Paris urban area is among those hosting the most skyscrapers in the European Union:<ref name="cities with the most skyscrapers">by Egbert Gramsbergen and Paul Kazmierczak, Almanac of Architecture and Design 2004. Skyscraper Cities Ranking List. Retrieved on 2006-06-29.</ref> as of 2006 there are 12 skyscrapers with roof height above 150 meters (492 feet) and 2 more under construction (compared to 10 such skyscrapers in Frankfurt, 9 in London, and 4 in Warsaw). Most of Paris high-rise buildings are located in three distinct areas:

La Défense is the largest purpose-built business district in Europe. Unlike the other high-rise areas, La Défense is dominated mostly by office buildings. The 13th arrondissement towers are mostly residential, located in the south of the arrondissement, in what is today Chinatown. Most of the buildings of the Front de Seine, which is in close proximity to the Eiffel Tower, were built in the 1970s and 1980s and are of mixed commercial and residential use.

Other high-rise buildings are scattered throughout the Paris urban area, mainly in close proximity of the Périphérique freeway. These include Les Mercuriales in Bagnolet, the Tour Pleyel in Saint-Denis, or the Hôtel Concorde Lafayette in the city proper (near the Porte Maillot). The tallest skyscraper of Paris, the Tour Montparnasse, stands alone in the Montparnasse area.

The Authority managing La Défense, the EPAD, has launched several contests for new towers to be built soon. The tallest tower is expected to be 300 m. Other proposed projects include two additional towers of 180 m and two towers of 100 meter in the Val de Seine business district located in Issy-les-Moulineaux, and two others of 160 m in Neuilly-sur-Seine, on the other bank of the Seine facing La Défense.
