Lou Marsh

Lou Marsh was a prominent and popular athlete during the early decades of the 20th-century who later refereed in the NHL and became a respected sports writer for the Toronto Star. During the First World War he was an officer in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, enlisting with the 180th (Sportsmen) Battalion, CEF in 1916. The Lou Marsh Trophy is named in his honour. He died at the age of 58.
