Louis XIV (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Louis XIV is a quartet Indie rock group from San Diego, California, formed in April 2003. They were formed from the band Convoy. Their first album, The Best Little Secrets Are Kept, was released in March 2005, following the release of their EP Illegal Tender in January of that year. Their first single was titled "Finding Out True Love Is Blind," and was featured on both the EP and album. Their music features rough, primal rock and evocative lyrics replete with double entendres. The band released their second single off their debut album entitled "God Killed the Queen" in September of 2005.

[edit] Controversy
Louis XIV faced controversy when their music was featured as the "lesbian theme" on the Fox television show the O.C. According to producer Josh Shwartz, the writers felt the band's music was a perfect way to frame the relationship of Alex and Marissa in any instance where they were seen kissing each other (taken from the DVD commentary of the episode "Rainy Day Women", Season 2).
The music video for "Paper Doll", off of the album The Best Little Secrets Are Kept was released exclusively on the alt-porn website Suicide Girls ([1]). The video, featuring various models in different stages of undress, was directed by alt-porn pioneer Eon McKai, director of Art School Sluts, the Kill Girl Kill series, and Neu Wave Hookers.
