Lugnaquilla (Log na Coille in Irish) is the highest mountain in Leinster. It is part of the Wicklow Mountains in eastern Ireland, and is one of Ireland's fourteen mountains over 3,000 ft, with an elevation of 926.5m (3,040 ft). Its proximity to the capital, Dublin, ensures that Lugnaquilla is a frequently climbed mountain. The most popular approaches to "Lug", as it is affectionately known, are via Glenmalure and the Glen of Imaal. Lugnaquilla is a bulky mountain, with a large plateau-type summit, bounded on two sides by steep glacial corries (the North and South Prisons).
