Märkisches Viertel

It was built in 1964 by the GeSoBau (Gesellschaft für sozialen Wohnungsbau/Association for Social Apartment Construction). They built high-rises which are up to 16 floors high.
Today it has a lot of poverty and unemployment. Also many people havn't a job there today, some people who have a job call them "Assis"!(a short form from "Asoziale" = unsocial people)
The rapper Sido and most of the crew of "Aggro Berlin" grew up in Märkisches Viertel and still lives there today.
