Manchester Airport railway station is the station that serves Manchester International Airport, and is built into the airport's terminal buildings. The station was opened together with the second airport terminal in 1993.

The station is situated at the end of a short branch from the Manchester Piccadilly to Wilmslow Line via a triangular junction located between Heald Green and Styal. The two platform terminal station is currently operating close to its maximum capacity and there are proposals for additional platforms.

The station platforms are connected by escalator, elevator, ramps and an elevated covered walkway (known as the "Sky Track") to the airport terminal buildings in which a manned railway ticket office is situated. Throughout the airport complex, the railway station is known as "The Station" and is signposted as such.

Northern Rail and First TransPennine Express are the two current franchise holders who operate services between Manchester Airport and various destinations across the North of England via Manchester Piccadilly or via Wilmslow to Crewe.

There are plans to link Manchester Airport to the city's Metrolink tram system but these are currently on hold awaiting Government decision.
