Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE) are the owners and operators of the Toronto Maple Leafs National Hockey League hockey team, the Toronto Raptors National Basketball Association team, and Toronto FC Major League Soccer team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Along with owning professional sports teams, the company is also involved in real estate and property management.

[edit] Maple Leaf Square
In April 2005 MLSE announced that they would be working with Cadillac Fairview (wholly owned subsidiary of Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan). and Lanterra Developments to build Maple Leaf Square, a major entertainment complex situated next to the Air Canada Centre (arena) in downtown Toronto. The $350 million (CAD) will be a mix use facility including office space, residential condo towers and 170,000 square feet of retail and dining space.

Image:Oshawa Gardens Rendering.jpg In June 2005 MLSE announced plans to operate and program a new mixed use arena in Oshawa, Ontario which will also be home to the Ontario Hockey League's Oshawa Generals junior league hockey team. The new facility will be located at the corner of Athol and Mary Streets in downtown Oshawa and should be ready for the 2006 season. Official Website: Oshawa Gardens
[edit] Toronto MLS Expansion
Major League Soccer awarded MLSE an expansion team for the 2007 season the team will play in a currently under construction soccer specific stadium in Toronto (BMO Field). The team (Toronto FC) will be the 13th team. On October 26, 2005, Toronto city council voted in favour of a proposal to support the construction of a 20,000 seat soccer stadium at Exhibition Place in partnership with MLSE and both the federal and provincial governments. This stadium would also house the 2007 FIFA World Youth Championship, which will be hosted by several cities across Canada. MLSE will operate the building for the city of Toronto, who remain the owners of the structure. The stadium started construction in January of 2006 and should be ready in 2007.
