Marcel Bich

Marcel Bich (29 July 1914 - 30 May 1994) was the co-founder of Bic, the world leader of ball point pens.

He repurchased the patent from Hungarian Lazlo Biro in 1950. Lazlo Biro had taken out a patent for a ball point pen in 1938. Then he took out another patent in 1943 and started manufacturing it in Argentina. Bich then started producing ball point pens marketed as Bic in a factory close to Paris France.
The company formed by Bich still exists as the Société Bic Group and is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange.
