Marcelo Romero

Clever Marcelo Romero Silva (born July 4, 1976 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan international footballer.

In the beginning of his career he played for Defensor Sporting and Peñarol (1997-2001) in his home country. In the summer of 2001 he was bought by Málaga CF, teaming up with countryfellow Darío Silva.

Romero would play two games for his country at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He also participated in Uruguay's unsuccessful attempt to qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
