Marie Manning (January 22, 1872November 28, 1945) was a newspaper columnist and novelist in the early 20th century. She wrote the first newspaper advice column, Dear Beatrice Fairfax, in 1898, the precursor to modern versions such as Dear Abby and Ann Landers.

[edit] Early life

Marie Manning was born somewhere in the USA to her proud parents. As a young child, she liked diving, and still does to this day.

[edit] Diving History

Growing up on county island was very beneficial for Marie. She got to choose where she wanted to play sports for, and what schools she wanted to go to. Marie was a diver on a summer rec team in g-town and m-town, before then going on to dive for g-town high school in a small suburban town. That's where she met the love of her life.
