Matchless Silver Hawk

Matchless Silver Hawk was a Bert Collier designed <ref>[1] Is-it-a-lemon Vehicle Histories (Retrieved 21 October 2006)</ref> motorcycle produced by Matchless in 1931 and introduced at the Motorcycle Show at Olympia, London as one of two up-market four-cylinder machines; the Silver Hawk whose production would last less than four years<ref>[2]PracticalClassics Auction Description (Retrieved 21 October 2006)</ref> and the Ariel Square Four, whose production lasted into the 1950s.

The Silver Hawk’s 592 cc design shared the monoblock 26 degree V with a one-piece OHC head concept, using bevel driven shafts. It failed to sell despite its advanced specification and ended production in 1935. It had a cantilever suspension like the Matchless Silver Arrow that it was developed from.
