[edit] Boundaries

The Medway constituency covers a similar area to that of the borough of Medway, although the constituency's coverage is different. Some towns in the borough, such as Gillingham (Gillingham) or Chatham (Chatham and Aylesford) have their own constituency. The Labour MP here since 1997, Bob Marshall-Andrews, is assuredly not one of Tony Blair's biggest supporters, and he has often made this clear in frequent TV interviews. He predicted he'd lose his seat in 2005 on General Election night during another of these interviews; he actually held on (narrowly), and it's arguable his high public profile helped him remain here. He has continued to be a constant critic of New Labour in Parliament.

[edit] Boundary review

Following their boundary review of parliamentary representation in Kent, the Boundary Commission for England have replaced the Medway seat with a new constituency of Rochester and Strood.
