Michael J. Moncrief is the current mayor of Fort Worth, Texas. Moncrief was first elected to the Texas legislature in 1971 serving for two years. He later became a judge in Tarrant County and served as a state senator from the 12th district as a Democrat. On May 3, 2003, Moncrief was elected mayor in a non-partisan race replacing outgoing mayor Kenneth Barr
