Mock-up

(Redirected from Mockup)
In common usage, a mock-up is a scale model of a structure or device, usually used for teaching, demonstration, testing a design, etc.
In software and systems engineering, the word mock-up comes from the idea of making a prototype. Even though the word is often confused with the word prototype, it actually implies a graphic, image, paper illustration or simple configuration of the prototype being made. It is used for systems, games, etc. to describe the screens and user interaction.
Mock-ups are also used in the Consumer goods industry, as part of the product development process, when the size, impression and/or artworks have to be tested and approved.
