Moorabbin Oval is a sports oval based in Linton Street, Moorabbin, Victoria, Australia.

[edit] St Kilda Football Club

It is currently used as the training base of the Australian rules football club the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League.

From 1965 to 1992, AFL/VFL matches were played there as St Kilda's home ground. The highest score kicked there was the Sydney Swans' 26.20 (176) against St Kilda in 1985.
The best attendance was 51,370 in 1965 for a St Kilda versus Collingwood match.

[edit] Melbourne Reds

The Oval was also used by the Melbourne Reds, a team playing in the former Australian Baseball League in the late 1990s. This saw many improvements made to the ground, including the installation of TV Standard Lighting and Bucket seats were installed in two bays of the stand in front of the social club.

[edit] Redevelopment

In 2006, the St Kilda Football Club, in association with the City of Kingston and the Government of Victoria announced a redevelopment of Moorabbin Oval. The redevelopment will provide state-of-the-art facilities for St Kilda, as well as providing community services, such as an indoor swimming pool and indoor sports court.[1]
