Motor nerves allow the brain to stimulate muscle contraction. A motor nerve is an efferent nerve that exclusively contains the axons of somatic and branchial motoneurons, which innervate skeletal muscles (that insure locomotion) and branchial muscles (that motorize the face and neck).
