Movie Magic Screenwriter is a word processing program sold by Write Brothers, Inc. to format screenplays, teleplays and novels. Screenwriter was originally developed by ScriptPerfection Enterprises, Inc., under the name ScriptThing. The program was purchased by Write Brothers, with the transition completed in 2001. It supports the Mac OS X and Windows operating systems.

The program is designed to automate the formatting of Action, Character Name, Dialog and other elements associated with writing screenplays using Command line completion. This is done mainly via the Tab and Enter/Return keys.

The Mac version of Screenwriter won a MacWorld Editor's Choice Award for the year 2000.

Movie Magic Screenwriter is the official scriptwriting software of Scryptic Studios - an online organization of comic book writers - and has been given the title of Official Screenwriting Software by Project Greenlight, Writers Guild of America-east, Screamfest, Cinema Seattle, Austin Film Festival and the UCLA Online Screenwriting Program.

Write Brothers' first software program, Scriptor (1982), was the world's first screenplay formatter.
