National Stadium (Tanzania)

National Stadium or William Mkapa Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It currently holds 25,000 people, but is undergoing a refurbishing to bring the capacity up to 60,000 people. This is expected to be completed in 2007. The structure cost TZS 56.4bn/-. It is currently being constructed under Beijing Construction Engineering Company Limited. Tanzania contributed TZS 25bn/- and China donated the rest. The Complex is according to the FIFA and Olympic Standards.
