Northern Germany

Northern Germany is the geographic area of the five German states Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Niedersachsen and Schleswig-Holstein in the German Lowlands known as the Northern German Plain with Low German as the historic language (see: Benrath line).
The Hanseatic League is part of the common history and culture of the cities in northern Germany with Hamburg Metropolitan Region as the modern center.da:Nordtyskland de:Norddeutschland
