Novelda is a town located in the province of Alicante, Spain. It has an area of 75.7 km2 and, according to the 2003 census, a total population of 25,399 inhabitants.

Novelda has important quarries and mines of marble, limestone, silica, clay and gypsum.

It was probably settled by Greeks, although it was controlled by Carthaginians and Romans. Some centuries after it was reconquered by a son of Ferdinand III of Castile. The Spanish sailor Jorge Juan y Santacilia was born in Novelda.

Some places of tourist interest in Novelda are the monastery of Santa María Magdalena (dated from the 19th century), the castle of the Mola and the Museum of Modernism.
