The current Obi of Onitsha is Igwe Fred Nnaemeka Achebe.

The Obi is a tribal leader of Onitsha. It is one of the highest chieftain royal titles in the Anambra state. The post is recognised by the state and federal government of Nigeria. He is seen as a representative of the people to the state and federal levels of government.
