Orange GGN, also known as alpha-naphthol orange, is a food dye. In Europe it is denoted by the E Number E111. It is the disodium salt of 1-(m-sulfophenylazo)-2-naphthol-6-sulfonic acid. It is currently delisted in Europe and USA, as toxicological data shown it is harmful.

Its CAS number is [523-44-4] [1] and its SMILES structure is OC1=C(N=N C3=CC=CC (S(=O)(O)=O)=C3) C(C=CC(S(=O)(O) =O)=C2)=C2C=C1.

The absorption spectrum of Orange GGN and Sunset Yellow is nearly identical in visible and ultraviolet range, but they can be distinguished by their IR spectra.
