The Orange peel fungus (Aleuria aurantia) is a widespread fungus. The cup-shaped ascocarps (fruiting bodies) give this species its common name.

It is a distinctive fungus which comprises a wavy-edged, saucer-shaped disc up to 10 cm across. The upper surface is bright orange and smooth while the lower surface is greyish orange and rather powdery.

The orange peel fungus grows on bare ground, and fruits mainly in late summer and autumn.
