Ottoman imperial anthem
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ottoman Empire has used many different anthems during its existence. Like some European kingdoms of the time, the anthem seems to change from ruler to ruler. Some include:
- Mahmudiye (1808-1839)
- Mecidiye March (1839-1861), by Giuseppe Donizetti, brother to Gaetano Donizetti
- Aziziye March (1861-1876), played by London Academy of Ottoman Court Music
also:
- "Ceddin Deden" Military March by İsmail Hakkı bey (the most recognized song of the turks).

These marches might not constitute anthems as we know them, as anthems weren't really codified back then, but they are quite probably the closest thing the Ottoman Empire had to anthems.
