Paris Metro Line 12 is one of 16 metro lines in Paris, France. The line links Issy-les-Moulineaux in southern Paris to the Porte de la Chapelle in the north. This is one of two lines (the other being line 13) which were initially built by the "Nord-Sud" company.

- November 5, 1910 : Line A of the Nord-Sud company was opened from Porte de Versailles to Notre-Dame de Lorette.
- April 8, 1911 : The line was extended northbound from Notre-Dame de Lorette to Pigalle.
- October 31, 1912 : The line was extended from Pigalle to Jules Joffrin.
- August 23, 1916 : The line was extended from Jules Joffrin to Porte de la Chapelle.
- 1930 : The Nord-Sud company was bought by the CMP company. Line A became line 12.
- March 24, 1934 : The line was extended from Porte de Versailles to Mairie d'Issy.

An extension to the north with one new station (Proudhon-Gardinoux) is planned. Construction work should start soon for an opening by mid 2012.
A further extension is planned to the north to Mairie d'Aubervilliers with two intermediate stations: Pont de Stains and Mairie d'Aubervilliers).

- 1923 : Sèvres - Croix Rouge renamed Sèvres - Babylone.
- August 25, 1931 : Marcadet renamed Marcadet - Poissoniers.
- October 6, 1942 : Montparnasse renamed Montparnasse - Bienvenüe.
- October 15, 1945 : Petits Ménages renamed Corentin Celton in honour of a membre of the French Resistance who was working at the Hospice of the Petits Ménages and who was killed by the Nazis during the occupation.
- May 11, 1946 : Torcy renamed Marx-Dormoy.
- June 30, 1986 : Chambre des Députés renamed Assemblée Nationale.
