Parisal

Parisal is a type of Coracle, made of a small circular bamboo basket. It is around usually used to carry 3 passengers, in addition to the boatman. It is widely used in Dharmapuri district of South India and is the major tourist attraction in the popular Hogenakal water falls there. In modern times, a sheet of LDPE plastic is embedded between two layers of bamboo. The bottom of the craft is tarred to make it water proof.
