Pedal pumping is a non aggressive derivative of a foot fetish which typically involves a female "damsel in distress" whose automobile has been rendered inoperable by such characteristic real life events as "running out of gas" or getting a car "wheel stuck in mud".

The helpless female appears stranded with the only solution of trying to overcome the situation being the repeated acts of trying to start the car or by aggressively holding down the gas pedal to force the stuck car free. The act itself centers on the female foot in a variety of footwear operating the gas, clutch and brake pedals with a heightened sense of urgency or desperation which arouses the male. [citation needed][original research?]

This fetish is dominated by a male heterosexual audience but it's not uncommon to see homosexual males with an intense fascination with the male foot. There is also the uncommon occurrence that heterosexual males will ornate their feet to look female to perform the act themselves. [citation needed][original research?] The fetish a rarely seen in females, but may appear as self-arousal from the act of pedal pumping and associated vibrations of the car involved.[citation needed][original research?]

The origins of this fetish are currently unknown and seem to be as varied as the individual, but many suspect early childhood events may have triggered these desires with a few people claiming that a relative or someone close to the person may have had problems starting their vehicles. [citation needed][original research?]

Pedal Pumping has many genres which include Fast Driving, Brake Failure, Revving of the engine and cars being Stuck in the Mud but each revolving around the female foot dictating the action.
