Pennino Brothers Jewelry was founded by Oreste Pennino in 1926 in New York City. This costume jewelry displays fine workmanship, with the highest quality rhinestones set in gold plate, sterling, vermeil or rhodium plated base metal. The designs are traditional and classic. The line stressed the "real look" in jewelry with elegant styles and floral motifs. The jewelry is marked in block print: "PENNINO", "PENNINO Sterling" or "PENNINO Pat. Pend.". All evidence points to the Pennino script signature only being used in ads and other print items. Highly desirable among collectors, Pennino jewelry is scarce and commands high prices. In 1966 the company ceased operations and original molds were destroyed.
