Petersen Industries
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Petersen Industries was first established in 1958 by John E. Petersen in Lake Wales, FL. Petersen, who had previous experience manufacturing canvas products for the citrus industry, founded the company to manufacture Lightning Loaders. Lightning Loaders were first introduced as hydraulic knuckleboom arms, mounted to school bus chassis, used in Florida orange groves to lift heavy crates and tubs of bulk citrus fruit. These units are also commonly called grove goats, and are still in use today.
Larger scale Lightning Loaders are also used in the aggregate and waste management industries.
