Piper PA-42 Cheyenne
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Piper PA-42-1000 Cheyenne 400LS is the largest aircraft Piper Inc. has ever made, with only 45 in existence. It weighed over 12,000 pounds with a full tank of fuel, and traveled at a maximum speed of over 350kts. The Cheyenne could travel about 1800 nautical miles on a single tank of fuel.
The Piper Cheyenne 400LS, model PA-42-1000, originally called the Cheyenne IV, then 400LS, and finally simply called the 400, is the largest aircraft ever made by Piper. Only 45 of these planes were made. It is essentially a PA-42-720 Cheyenne IIIA with a change of engine; the original Pratt& Whitney PT-6A engines were replaced with 1000 SHP Garrett TPE-331 engines, and 4 bladed props, for an increase in performance.
