Pizza Haven is an Australian restaurant operator specializing in pizza.

In 1984, brothers Evan, Louis, Bill and Gabriel Christou started Pizza Haven with the aid of a $AUD24,000 mortgage on their parents' home. The first Pizza Haven outlet was at Glenelg in Adelaide. Employing twelve people, the Christou brothers were active in the running of the business. Today, Pizza Haven is a franchised business.

In 2006, New Zealand Pizza Haven stores were bought by Domino's Pizza and a majority were converted to Domino's and some stores were able to stay branded as Pizza Haven.

There are very few Australian based Pizza Haven's and the company is on the verge of collapse, [citation needed] with most of its stores being pushed out by larger competitors Pizza Hut and Domino's Pizza. [citation needed] There are currently only 4 stores left in its home state of South Australia, compared to 15 for the state less than 2 years ago. [citation needed] It was recently bought out by a new person who still has a vision for the failing company. [citation needed]

[edit] Pizza Haven (US)

Pizza Haven is also the name of a Seattle-based pizzeria and pizza delivery chain, founded in 1958 and unrelated to the Australian company [1]. At its peak in the 1980s, this Pizza Haven chain included 42 restaurants throughout the west coast of the United States, but bankruptcy and consolidation reduced it to a single store in the Seattle Center Center House by the year 2000.
