Poolsbrook
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Poolsbrook is a former mining village near Staveley in Chesterfield in North East Derbyshire. The village was formerly known as Spike.
The Solar Pyramid is a proposed sculpture in Poolsbrook Country Park, Poolsbrook, Staveley, England. When it is completed it will take the form of a 45 metre tall sundial, making it the world's largest artwork (according to its creators - although see B of the Bang) and over twice as tall as Angel of the North. It will be visible from the M1 motorway to thousands of travellers every day.
Broadcasting
The local radio stations that cover the village are Peak FM, Radio Derby, Radio Sheffield and Mansfield 103.2 FM.
For television many residents have the aerial facing Emley Moor to receive Yorkshire Television but other regional channels can be received easily in the village such as for the Central Television with a correctly aligned aerial.
Sport
The village has no sporting facilities but the people of the village support either Chesterfield F.C., Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday or Sheffield United. [citation needed]
