Port security
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Port security in the U.S. is handled by the Coast Guard.
Port security is related to port management, which became a hot topic of political discussion in February 2006 when a British port management firm offered to sell its contracts to run ports in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami and Newark, N.J. to Dubai Ports World. Controversy arose over claims that the proposed purchase would pose a national security risk.
