In geometry, protractor is a circular or semicircular tool for measuring angles. The units of measurement utilized are degrees.

Some protractors are simple half-discs; these have existed since ancient times. More advanced protractors usually have one or two swinging arms, which can be used to help measure the angle. Protractors are not always perfectly accurate when measuring angles. If available, computer software that measures angles is a more accurate alternative.
