Punk-skinheads

Punk-Skinheads, also known as Oi! skins, are a form of skinhead with punk rock influences that grew in numbers in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Punk-skins didn't have a cleancut appearance like the 1960s-style Trojan Skinheads. They tended to wear higher boots, T-shirts instead of button-up shirts, and army trousers or tight jeans (sometimes splattered with bleach). They often shaved their hair shorter than the 1960s skinheads, to grade 0 length — or shaved it completely with a razor. They also generally had more tattoos than traditional skinheads.

The general public often stereotyped punk-skins as glue-sniffers and unkempt thugs. Some traditionalist skinheads referred to them as boneheads. Many punk-skins were non-political or left wing, however this style was also adopted by some Neo-Nazis.
