Quintus Haterius

Quintus Haterius was a member of a senatorial family. Haterius was the father to consul Decimus Haterius Agrippa and grandfather to consul Quintus Haterius Antoninus. He was consul in 5BC. In 16AD, in the senate he denounced the extravagance of senators. Haterius died in 27AD.

According to Tacitus, he was an impressive orator to his contemporaries. His success was due to his fluency and vigour. Examples of his oratory can be read in:
