Ramphotyphlops is a genus of blind snakes belonging to the family Typhlopidae that are commonly found in Asia and Australia in a wide variety of habitat. They range from 50mm to 750mm in length, with a wide range of coloration from light beige, to red, to blackish brown, and are difficult to accurately identify without the aid of optical magnification. Their heads are conical and tapered in with the body of the snake. The snakes can be found in the holes of ants and termites as well as under fallen leaves and holes in logs.

Snakes of the Ramphotyphlops genus are believed to feed on earth worms as well as the larvae and eggs of ants and termites . They are also believed to be egg-layers though this has only been observed in a few species.
